The karbon omer, a handful of barley flour was brought on the second day of Chag Hamatzos (commonly known as Peseach). We are then commanded to count 7 weeks &#8211; 49 days. The 50th day is the holiday of Shavuos, the day we were told the 10 commandments, and given the Torah. On that day we are commanded to bring 2 loaves of bread from the new crop accompanied by a special selection of korbanos in addition to the korbanos of the holiday of Shavuos.<\/p>\n<p>We made a calendar counting from Pesach until Shavuos.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left;width:500px;padding-left:10px;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/parshas-emor\/emor-calendar-shavous\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-528\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/emor-calendar-shavous.jpg?resize=455%2C277&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"emor-calendar-shavous\" width=\"455\" height=\"277\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-528\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u05d0\u05de\u05d5\u05e8 \u05db\u05d2:\u05d8\u05d5<\/strong><br \/>\nEmor 23:15\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"width:600px;float:left;\">\n<div style=\"float:left;clear:both;padding-top:15px;\">1- We made a batch of peanut chews<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10px; font-style: italic; display: inline;\">\nPeanut Chews<br \/>\n2 cups peanut butter<br \/>\n1 cup honey<br \/>\n1\/2 lb dark baking chocolate<br \/>\n1 Tbsp water<br \/>\n4 cups Rice Krispies<br \/>\n2 cups chopped peanuts<br \/>\n10 oz white chocolate chips<br \/>\nMelt one cup of peanut butter with the water, honey and dark chocolate.  Once completely melted add the Rice Krispies and chopped peanuts.  Mix together well and spread evenly accross a flat cookie sheet.  Once cooled, melt white chocolate chips and remaining cup of peanut better and spread across the top.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left;clear:both;padding-top:15px;\">2- Once partially cooled we used a toothpick to draw the lines of the calendar.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left;clear:both;padding-top:15px;\">3- We melted chocolate and placed it in a small bag.  We pricked a small hole at the bottom of the bag and piped the chocolate along the toothpick-marked lines.  We also crossed off the days that have already been counted (up until Shabbos). <\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left;clear:both;padding-top:15px;\">4- We then used white and red sprinkles to make candles on the Shabbos days.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float:left;clear:both;padding-top:15px;\">5- Finally, we took a large gumdrop and 2 Mike &#038; Ike jellybeans and using toothpicks fixed them to the Shavous day on the calendar.
