The Aron (box) was made as a\u00a0channel\u00a0through which Hashem\u00a0communicated\u00a0with Moshe. It was made using 3 boxes. The\u00a0middle box was made of wood, and the\u00a0outer and inner boxes were made of gold.\u00a0A sefer torah, and both sets of luchos were kept inside. Attached to the cover were two Keruvim facing\u00a0each other\u00a0 with their wings outstretched over the cover.There was a beautiful trim (zeir zahav) that ran around the top edge of the outermost box.<\/p>\n<p>We used rice krispie treats to create the Aron with its different parts<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u05ea\u05e8\u05d5\u05de\u05d4 \u05db\u05d4:\u05d9<\/strong><br \/>\nTerumah 25:10<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; padding-left: 20px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/parshas-terumah-%d7%aa%d7%a8%d7%95%d7%9e%d7%94\/aronclosesm\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-308\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-308\" alt=\"AronCloseSm\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/AronCloseSm.jpg?resize=250%2C228&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"250\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/parshas-terumah-%d7%aa%d7%a8%d7%95%d7%9e%d7%94\/aronopensm\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-307\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-307\" alt=\"AronOpenSm\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/abtorah.com\/parsha-desserts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/AronOpenSm.jpg?resize=250%2C199&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"250\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10px;\">(open &#8211; without the cover)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">1 &#8211; Start with a batch of peanut butter rice krispie treats (you will probably need at least 2 batches for this project)<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10px; font-style: italic; display: block;\">Peanut butter rice krispie treats:<br \/>\n1 c sugar<br \/>\n1 c corn syrup<br \/>\n1 c peanut butter<br \/>\n6 c rice krispies<br \/>\nMelt the first 3 ingredients than add the rice krispies<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">2 &#8211; Working while the rice krispie treats are still warm, firmly press about a 1\/2 inch thick layer to the bottom and sides of an empty shoe box or tissue box covered in wax paper. (spray the wax paper with pam)<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">3 &#8211; Make a batch of chocolate rice krispie treats (same as the peanut butter recipe, just add 8oz of choc chips to the pot)<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">4 &#8211; Firmly press the chocolate layer (also a 1\/2 inch thick) on top of the peanut butter layer to represent the second box. Leave about 1\/2 an inch from the top so the outer box is taller than the inner.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">5 &#8211; Again using the peanut butter version, press another layer on top of the chocolate layer. Only go up as high as the chocolate layer.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">6 &#8211; Cut out holes for the rings on the sides now as once the box hardens it will be difficult to do.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">7 &#8211; Create the cover separately using the peanut butter version by creating a large rectangle to fill the open top of the box.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">8 &#8211; Make the Keruvim\u00a0with the peanut butter treats by making a round ball and rectangle on a skewer<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">9 &#8211; &#8220;Glue&#8221; the chocolate potato chips together with melted chocolate to represent wings, then use melted chocolate to attach them to the\u00a0Keruvim<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">10 &#8211; Wait until the boxes and kruvim harden before trying to take the treats out of the box<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">11 &#8211; Using melted chocolate stick the rings into the holes you created<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">12 &#8211; Place 2 chocolates in the center of your Aron and cover with the cover you created. Stick the 2 Keruvim\u00a0on top facing each other with wings outstretched.<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">13 &#8211; Use chocolates and lentils to decorate the border so there is a pretty trim around the cover<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\">14 &#8211; Put candy canes through the rings as poles<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; clear: both; padding-top: 15px;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parshas Terumah discusses the Mishkan and some of the kelim that were created and kept there.
