This week is a double parsha – Parshas Behar and Bechukosai. The mitzvos of shmittah and yovel are discussed, in which we are commanded to leave our fields un-plowed and not harvested for a year once every 7 years and again at the end of 7 cycles – once every 50 years.
We made cupcakes with green sprinkles to represent the fields and placed candy fruit on them to represent the fruit left out in the fields for anyone to take.
